Reception Applications

Do you have a child who was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023? If so, it’s almost time to choose a Primary School for your child.

The Northumberland County Council Portal opens on November 1st 2026 for applications into Reception. Warkworth Primary offers a unique, rich and wholesome childhood to all who join our little family. Our forest school and outdoor learning is like no other – it’s unparalleled in the local area. We aren’t just playing outdoors – every interaction our pupils have is them learning through joyous and prosperous experiences. The impact our holistic learning approach has on pupils’ examination results speak for themselves.

Joining us beyond Reception?

Our applications extend beyond the statutory Reception children. We welcome children ages 2-11 years. . Whether you are moving to the area or considering a fresh start for your child, we accept in-year transfers and applications across all primary year groups, subject to availability.

Headteacher Mr Booth and senior staff members are delighted to show parents around. We are extremely proud of our school, all our pupils achieve here and what we can offer local families. We understand how important it is to choose the right school, which is why we offer private and personalised bespoke tours for each family who expresses interest to us. We work closely with our parents and carers to ensure you are making the right choice for your family.

We are highly flexible and will fit in around your busy schedule, whether it’s inside or outside of school hours. All you have to do is let us know a date and time and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Discover how our research-backed curriculum nurtures independence, curiosity and confidence in our learners.

At Warkworth, our curriculum extends beyond traditional lessons to shape the whole child. Our teaching goes way beyond the classroom with learning taking place in every interaction. We nurture our pupils while upholding high expectations so they feel valued, confident and supported.

Through a rigorous, carefully sequenced curriculum, we build deep cumulative knowledge that opens future opportunities and prepares pupils for an evolving world. We enrich school life with broad cultural and outdoor experiences for all our families. Ultimately, we aim to spark a genuine thirst for knowledge and inspire our children to act as courageous advocates for a kinder world, long after they leave us.

Our most recent cohort of Year 6 pupils in 2026 achieved SATs results that fell into the top 1% nationally.

Our commitment to academic excellence was recently reflected in our Year 6 SATs results, placing Warkworth in the top 1% of primary schools nationally. With 95% of pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing, and mathematics combined (and 38% achieving the higher standard), our pupils leave us exceptionally prepared for secondary school and beyond.

Rooted in our Christian ethos and guided by our three simple school rules of “Love yourself, Love each other, and Love the world” we cultivate an environment where pupils grow into articulate, confident and courageous advocates for a kinder world.

At Warkworth, high expectations are not merely an ideal; they are our everyday standard. Driven by research-backed pedagogy and a knowledge-driven curriculum, our dedicated staff empower pupils to build critical thinking skills, deep subject knowledge and cultural understanding; through rich, varied opportunities and broadened horizons.

Don’t take our word for it… Come and see for yourself!
