At Warkworth CofE Primary School, we believe that every child has a fundamental right to feel safe and protected from harm. We recognise that pupils can only thrive academically and personally when they feel secure, and we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and welcoming environment where all children are valued.
Our moral and statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of our pupils guides everything we do. We remain vigilant to the signs of neglect or abuse and follow robust, well-established procedures to ensure that every child receives prompt and effective support, protection and justice. These safeguarding measures apply to all staff and governors, in full alignment with Northumberland County Council guidelines.
We maintain a proactive mindset, operating with the awareness that safeguarding issues can arise anywhere, at any time. This vigilant approach ensures that we always prioritise the welfare of the child in every decision we make.
Child-Friendly Safeguarding Policy
At our school, keeping children safe is one of our most important responsibilities. We want every child to feel safe, listened to and confident that there are trusted adults who will help them if they are worried about anything.
Our Child-Friendly Safeguarding Policy explains safeguarding in a way that children can understand. It helps children know what safeguarding means, who they can talk to, and what adults in school will do to keep them safe. We share this because children have the right to understand how we care for them and how they can get help when they need it.
