Welcome to

NCEA Warkworth C OF E Primary

Welcome

Warkworth Church of England Primary sits at the heart of our idyllic Northumbrian village, welcoming children aged 2–11 into a warm, nurturing community. Rooted in Christian values with an unconditional welcome to all, we deliver a rich, knowledge-driven curriculum with exacting academic standards, preparing pupils for a lifetime of intellectual curiosity.

Our staff employ research-backed, rigorous teaching methods and uphold the highest expectations to cultivate deep cultural and academic capital in every child, honouring their God-given potential. Beyond the classroom, our Forest School, wonderful outdoor provision, river kayaking and multiple residentials foster resilience, wonder and a profound love of nature.

My personal mission – shared by every member of our team – is to ensure this school exemplifies the exacting standard we would choose for our own children. We champion the whole child, nurturing articulate, courageous advocates for a kinder world, and equip them with the knowledge and skills to flourish well beyond their primary years.

I look forward to welcoming you and showcasing our extraordinary school in action.

Mr Jonathan Booth MRes MA (Cantab) – Headteacher

🏀 Years 4 and 5 enjoyed a fantastic visit to Dame Allan's Schools in Newcastle this week, as part of our partnership work with other high-performing schools across the region: sharing expertise, learning from one another and giving our pupils access to exceptional opportunities beyond their own school gates.

🧪 The children made full use of Dame Allan’s specialist facilities for a STEM workshop themed around basketball, combining science, technology, teamwork and sport in a wonderfully engaging way.

🎟️ There was also a competition for some children to win tickets to a Newcastle Eagles match — but, because of the children’s exceptional behaviour and attitude, every single child was awarded tickets.

A member of staff from Dame Allan’s emailed the headteacher especially later to say:

“The pupils were such a credit to the school - they were so engaged and polite, not to mention funny! I had some lovely conversations with some of the pupils. They were just great.”

🌟 We are very proud of how beautifully the children represented Warkworth: curious, articulate, polite and full of enthusiasm.

Our Year 4 and 5 pupils had a wonderful visit to the Laing Art Gallery, where they spent time looking carefully, thinking deeply and speaking thoughtfully about the works of art around them.

Art has a unique power to make us feel, question, notice and exchange ideas and it was a real joy to hear the children respond with such curiosity, confidence and insight.

As always, the children represented Warkworth beautifully. They were respectful, engaged and full of thoughtful observations, making our mini pilgrimage into the world of art all the more memorable.

✨Year 6 - Year 7 Transition Day 1

What a fantastic start to the day for our new pupils! 🎉

After a warm welcome from our staff, pupils attended an assembly led by our Headteacher, Mr Andriot. He shared our vision for the exciting new school building, spoke about our school values and virtues, and outlined the high expectations we have for every member of our school community.

Pupils have now met their form tutors and enjoyed a tour of the school site. Throughout the day, they will be taking part in a range of activities designed to help them settle in, make new friends, and get to know our wonderful staff.

We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible at our parent assembly at 2pm today💙

The guide covers:
• Choosing age-appropriate content
• Protecting bedtime routines
• Keeping devices in shared spaces
• Co-viewing and talking about what children see
• Using simple scripts and transition warnings
• Modelling balanced device use as adults

With supportive tips and realistic routines, this guide helps adults manage screen time with greater confidence.

The Sill - As part of the Year 4 geography about changing Northumbrian landscapes, we visited The Sill! We examined the changes over time to the landscape before going on a fieldwork hike to the site of the former Sycamore Gap. This was a great example of a direct change to the Northumbrian landscape within our children's lifetimes, a rarity! ... See MoreSee Less

Lifepath - Year 4 had an amazing time exploring the lifepath of St Aiden at Brinkburn Priory! Lifepath teaches us that our paths through life never follow a straight line and gave us lots of moments to reflect on our own lifepaths and to be still. We made lots of crafts and even got a little wet when we journeyed to Holy Island! ... See MoreSee Less

🏰 Trip Day Triumph! 🏰
Our wonderful Reception and Year 1 classes had a fantastic adventure exploring Bamburgh today! Year One visiting the Grace Darling Museum, Reception visiting Bamburgh castle then all together on the beach for a picnic and some fun.

While the trip was amazing, what made us the absolute proudest was hearing from members of the public about our children’s impeccable behaviour and outstanding manners. 🌟

The best part? This happens on all of our trips across every single year group. Whether it's our youngest pupils on their first big day out or our oldest on residentials, our children are always incredible ambassadors for our school.

Thank you to our superstars for making us so proud, and to our staff for making these trips happen! 👏👏
