Welcome
Warkworth Church of England Primary sits at the heart of our idyllic Northumbrian village, welcoming children aged 2–11 into a warm, nurturing community. Rooted in Christian values with an unconditional welcome to all, we deliver a rich, knowledge-driven curriculum with exacting academic standards, preparing pupils for a lifetime of intellectual curiosity.
Our staff employ research-backed, rigorous teaching methods and uphold the highest expectations to cultivate deep cultural and academic capital in every child, honouring their God-given potential. Beyond the classroom, our Forest School, wonderful outdoor provision, river kayaking and multiple residentials foster resilience, wonder and a profound love of nature.
My personal mission – shared by every member of our team – is to ensure this school exemplifies the exacting standard we would choose for our own children. We champion the whole child, nurturing articulate, courageous advocates for a kinder world, and equip them with the knowledge and skills to flourish well beyond their primary years.
I look forward to welcoming you and showcasing our extraordinary school in action.Mr Jonathan Booth MRes MA (Cantab) – Headteacher

Our Year 6 pupils were delighted to welcome visitors all the way from Warkworth… in New Zealand 🇳🇿
Our children have just begun exchanging letters with pupils over 11,000 miles away Warkworth School, finding out about life in New Zealand first-hand. We’ve now sent our own letters, along with our school flag and gifts, as this connection continues to grow.
At Warkworth, we believe education should open doors, helping children to think beyond their immediate world, communicate with confidence, and build meaningful connections across cultures.
We’re proud to be developing a partnership with Warkworth School (NZ) and look forward to this growing in the years ahead 🌍 ... See MoreSee Less

We were delighted to welcome visitors from Cambridge University into school today, who spent time with our Year 5 and Year 6 children sharing an exciting insight into university life.
The session explored some fantastic questions, including: What is a university? and What might you find there? The children learned about everything from lecture halls and libraries to clubs, societies, and the wide range of opportunities available beyond studying.
They also discussed life outside of academic work, giving pupils a glimpse into the social side of university—making friends, trying new activities, and becoming more independent. A particular highlight was hearing about why students choose university and what makes Cambridge such a special place to study.
Our pupils were fascinated to learn about the huge variety of subjects you can study, as well as how to start thinking about choosing a course in the future. The session also encouraged them to consider important aspects such as living away from home, managing their time, and becoming more independent learners.
It was an inspiring and engaging visit that really got our children thinking about their futures and the many exciting possibilities ahead of them. A huge thank you to our visitors for sparking such curiosity and ambition! 😀 ... See MoreSee Less

Year 6 were each given three “hero” ingredients: tomato for the starter, halloumi for the main course, and strawberry for the dessert. They researched a range of recipes featuring these ingredients before choosing what they wanted to make. In the end, they selected caprese skewers for the starter, a halloumi burger for the main, and Eton mess for dessert.
They then wrote their own recipes in a cookbook style, using information gathered online, and created a farm-to-fork storyboard for each of their hero ingredients. Yesterday, they had the opportunity to make and taste all three courses, and next week they will evaluate their work 🍓🍔🍅 Well done Year 6!😊 ... See MoreSee Less
