At our school, we aim to inspire children’s curiosity about the past and help them understand how history has shaped the world they live in today. Through engaging stories, historical enquiry, and hands-on experiences, pupils learn about significant people, places, and events from both Britain and the wider world.
We want children to:
- Develop a sense of chronology and understand how things change over time.
- Recognise similarities and differences between their own lives and those in the past.
- Ask and answer thoughtful questions about evidence, sources, and historical interpretations.
- Appreciate the diversity of societies and cultures, fostering respect and empathy.
- Build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that they can use across the curriculum.
Our intent is to nurture curious, reflective learners who enjoy exploring the past and can connect it to the present and future.
Our History lead is Mrs T Welch.
